Entering the Fiery Furnace requires either joining a ranger-guided hike or holding a Self-Guided Exploration permit. Self-guided permits are reserved online through Recreation.gov, at least two days ahead and no more than seven days ahead. Permits are day-use only. Groups are limited to six people and children under five are not allowed.
