Wilson Homestead via Pine Creek Trail

There is a lot of information available on the web about the Wilson family and the time they lived at Red Rock Canyon. A concrete slab foundation in Pine Creek is known as the Wilson homestead, but there is another less well known one in Sandstone Canyon. The homestead site is located in a perfect spot, with the meadow often lush and moist, and Pine Creek within an easy stroll. You can see the view of Mescalito as you look west, and it's even better at sunrise. This canyon is a very popular canyon, although most people choose the shorter ecology trail.
