About This Trail
The path ends at the Strike Valley, where you can see a giant rainbow alligator running from the north to the south. You won't be able to see that far, but be prepared to be amazed. The layout of this short trail is a good introduction to desert hiking. The trail proceeds over slickrock and up stream courses, avoiding the fragile terrain where delicate desert species wrestle against the elements and your fat foot to survive. It's a good idea to follow the trail signs. It is possible to add five miles and two hours by starting from the parking lot. For a possible extension, see the Saddle Arch.
