About This Trail
The canyon has walls and slopes of sandstone that are bright in color. A road that goes west across a sagebrush flat is crossed by Halls Creek. The route goes across dry washes and around orange sandstone outcrops and descends into a wide, stony gorge. Follow this drainage west and you will reach the Waterpocket Fold. The deep gorge can be reached less than one mile from start to finish. The canyon has vegetation beyond the slot. It ends in a sandstone ramp in the Kayenta formation. There is a dryfall of six feet on the slide, but progress is halted quickly by a higher dryfall.
