About This Trail
The extension of the popular Calico Tanks trail leads to the summit of Redcap Peak. There is a group of sandstone formations north of the road. This area is popular with hikers, scramblers, and climbers. Redcap is the only peak that is considered a ranked peak. The extension off the popular Calico Tanks trail is very demanding. The peak is also known as Turtlehead Jr.
