South Oak Creek Trail

It'll be hot in the summer with this route because you'll spend more time on the lower slopes. wranglers give horseback rides from Spring Mountain State Park and Bonnie Springs so you will have plenty of company on this trail. The area called the "haunted canyon" is located behind the hill and is rich in red soil. The best part about this is that you still have a creek to travel to, no matter what time of year. Just be sure to haul your trash out with you when you are at picnic spots.
