Sierra Buttes Lookout Trail

You can view the fire lookout from three lakes. The end of the paved road leads to the Trailhead. It is only for users of the highway. The trail is mostly uphill but not too steep. You will see a lot of flowers and butterflies as you approach the first ridge. The sky, clouds, and trees are reflected in the lakes. Young America lake is just as reflective as the other way around. You will finally reach the bottom of the lookout tower after you meet up with the 4WD trail that has 4 or 5 switchbacks. If you're not afraid of heights, you should be prepared for the views. You will be atop the lookout tower with a panoramic view of the entire valley. You can see as far as Lassen on clear days. You have a great view of Upper and Lower Sardine Lake.
