About This Trail
It is worth the effort to go to hell and back with mud pots, sulfur vents and boiling pools. It's a little out of the way, but it's a great place to go for tranquility and interest in geology. If you're visiting Bumpass Hell, it's a must follow rule to stick to the trail. The man who discovered these volcanic hotsprings, Kendal Bumpass, had his leg torn up twice, the second time needing to amputation. This is an easy family friendly hike with little in the way of danger if you keep the little ones under control.
