About This Trail
It is possible to go from the Mosquito Flat to the Morgan Pass in a day. A beautiful day hike in the eastern Sierra takes you through scenic lakes formed by snow melt. It isn't due to the elevation gain but because it's above 10000ft that it's a moderately strenuous hike. The trail begins at the end of Rock Creek Road in close proximity to Highway 395. At 10000+ft the trailhead is a great place to acclimatize to high altitudes.
