About This Trail

Imported description
Although this trail is almost entirely in the Indian Peaks Wilderness (Roosevelt National Forest), it starts in the Brainard Lake Recreation Area. There is a $11 fee (cash only) to enter this area. The trail is heavily trafficked until Blue Lake. From that point to Mount Toll it is lightly trafficked as the trail becomes very hard to find in a rocky area. Visitors may park just outside the closed gate at the Gateway Trailhead. Parking at the Gateway Trailhead is free but would add 5 miles round-trip to this hike.
