The Great Salt Lake and the surrounding mountains can be seen from the summit of Malans Peak. It is easy to follow the trail. The route is not bad. It is possible for anyone to make this hike. It is possible to enjoy a hike here without having to make it to the summit. You can continue on past the summit into the Malans Basin, a popular camping spot.
