Snow Canyon

This self-guided nature trail highlights geological features and native plants of the park. This loop covers parts of 3 different trails and a dirt road. If you like stay in the campground and cover all the different trails over a couple of days or try this one to get great views of the area. Start at the Hidden Pinyon trailhead on the west side of the road, take the paved whiptail trail about 30 yards and turn west onto the HP trail which is also signed for Three Ponds trail. Take this trail until you reach a junction and keep left, if you go right this is part of the TP trail and will go back to the campground and visitor center. On the HP trail you will come to another junction where you will turn and go northeast across the petrified dunes. Then you come to the Butterfly trail where you will turn west and follow to a trail junction to an overlook point go up to the overlook to see some beautiful views then back down and go west north west on the trail until you meet up with west canyon road. At this point turn southeast and follow the road past a utility box on the right and an outhouse on the left then an abandoned road on the left and you will then cross the TP trail, turn left onto this trail and follow back to the petrified dunes and back down to the HP trail and back to the road and your finished. This was a great hike and crossed much of the trail areas.
