About
Imported descriptionCut by water, sculpted by wind and time, Snow Canyon’s Navajo sandstone cliffs share the same history and geology as Zion National Park to the east. You may find yourself wondering why it isn't a national park.
Snow Canyon is popular with road cyclists touring the park’s scenic drive and hikers exploring the network of trails through the main canyon and numerous side canyon options. At dawn and dusk, the park provides unique wildlife viewing when coyotes, kit foxes, quail and roadrunners come out to feed. Harder to find are the protected desert tortoises, peregrine falcons and Gila monsters.
The attraction of numerous bolted routes throughout the canyon lures rock climbers of all skill levels and kids will love playing on the parks’ sand dunes. Make a reservation on the Utah State Parks reservation site.
