The start is at the parking lot. The blue blazed Mattabesset Trail can be reached by taking the Mattabesett Connector. The Mennunkatuck Trail is blue and you can take a left at the junction. The pond is shown on maps but it is not green during the summer and fall. If you're walking the Mennunkatuck Trail, stay on the trail, because you don't need a permit, according to the sign.
