About This Trail

You can start at Old Big Oak Flat and hike uphill to Cascade Creek. There are multiple water sources on the first stretch. It is a moderately steep uphill climb after passing a footbridge. After El Capitan there is an optional summit of Eagle Peak before you get to the trail junction. The last stretch is steep and rocky downhill on the upper Yosemite Falls trail. It can be done as a day hike or backpacking trip. There are 3 campsites on the footbridge of cascade creek. There is another campsite near the ribbon meadow. The last campsites are north of the falls and south of the creek.
