About This Trail
Stevens Trail is a very scenic and rich place. It was built by Truman Allen Stevens to be a toll road for miners who needed to get to the railroad town of Colfax. The trail was rediscovered in 1969 by a boy scout, Eric Kiel, who was doing a scouting project. The Bureau of Land Management maintains it. It is important that you do not attempt in extreme heat and that you do not allow your dog to get hot on the ground.
