About This Trail
Brainard Lake Recreation Area is in the Indian Peaks Wilderness, where it begins. There isn't much to choose from when making your way to this area. The road through the rec area is closed from October to mid-July. visitors can park outside for free at gateway It will result in a 5 mile increase in trip distance. Lee Hill Drive is closed for eight hours a day and Boulder canyon is open for 10 hours.
