About This Trail
If you don't make it all the way to the trailhead, you can park earlier along the road and walk the rest of the way. The Kinsey Road Trail goes down to the beach. You can head up Rattlesnake Ridge Trail after hiking south along the beach for about 5 miles. You can get water from the river at the start of the ascent, which is a steep and overgrown walk through ferns, redwoods, and wildflowers. It is tiring but worth it. The views on the Kings Crest Ridge Trail are worth all the hard work. There is usually fresh water at Kinsey Creek. You can rent bear cans from the park Ranger station. Pack your trash and be aware of bears and snakes in the area.
