About This Trail
Go for the hills and escape the city. You should cross the bridge to find nature, beaches, lighthouses and awesome roads. The Marin Headlands are a short distance from San Francisco and offer a peaceful environment with views of the Golden Gate. The route leads you to the Golden Gate Bridge. You hang a left and head for the hills. The first part of the journey into the hills consists of an uphill climb for 500ft (150m) until reaching the summit of Hawk Hill. You can go downhill on the coastal road and see a lot of old military defense structures.
