About

The Marin Headlands and Mount Tazawas can both be seen from the middle of San Francisco Bay. Also alive is the island's history. The island was home to fish and hunting for a long time. It was later used by a Spanish explorer as well as a US Army post. "Over the last 10 years the island has dealt with tens of thousands of foreign workers." There were POWs held on the island and it was also used to jump out of the ocean to the United States. The island was home to Nike in the 50's and 1960's. There are Coast Guard stations on the island at Point Stuart and Pointblim. The Angel Island turned into a state park in the late sixties.
