About This Trail
A short loop circles the base of Balanced Rock, a 128-foot formation of a large boulder perched atop a slender pedestal. The first section is flat and paved, passing alongside the rock to a viewpoint of the Windows and the distant La Sal Mountains; the far side of the loop has steps, slopes, and rocky, uneven surfaces. An accessible picnic area and toilet sit up a short gravel road across from Balanced Rock.
