About This Trail
The trail is an off-shoot of the longer Lakeview Trail. Umber Ridge Trail is popular with mountain bikers. The area is typical of the western Ozarks. The trail goes along a west-facing slope and then goes along an east-facing slope, with several vistas of Stockton Lake. The trail goes through open woods. Hikers can see a variety of wildflowers including trillium, spring beauty, coral root orchid and wild hyacinth. The leaves change color and begin to fall in the Autumn. The best times to see a white-tailed deer or bald eagle are in the winter when the woods are open.
