About This Trail
The start and end of the Middle Fork Eel River are in the wild. It's a nice day hike in the fall, spring and winter, despite being a bit hot and humid in the summer. There are plenty of picnic spots as the trail passes through stands of conifer. Glades, and meadow. You can start descending on a single track trail through a beautiful forest from the 24N2 forest road. You will wind your way through meadow and creek crossing, which are excellent places to rest and picnic. The trail will get more technical as you go along the mountain face and begin hiking down the numerous switchbacks that will take you to the Eel River. There is a campsite and meadow just before the Eel River.
