About This Trail

It is near Raleigh, North Carolina. The trail is great for hiking and takes a few hours to complete. William B. Umstead State Park is where the sycamore trail is located. The park's entrance is on the northern side. This is a popular park and can be busy on busy days. This is a good walk in the woods. It's a great place to get away from the traffic since the park is right against Raleigh. The trail is lightly populated on the northern side of the park. There isn't a lot of wildlife on this one, and you can get lucky and see a snake or deer. There is a visitor center, but you should be aware that their supplies are limited. Go for some great colors in the fall. Go during the rain.
