About This Trail
The route begins in Idyllwild. The cost for a parking permit is only $5 and you can get one at either the parking area or the ranger station. There is a quota for the Devil Slide Trail during the summer, so it's important to have a wilderness pass. It's a waste of time to get the wilderness pass at the parke station because they're limited in number. It's usually open at 8am on most Mondays and Fridays as well as Sundays. It is wise for anyone with a dog to take note. There are several trails where dogs can run but they are not allowed on State Park Land, which is the top third of the route. This is a long hike for over 10 hours.
