About This Trail
Red Canyon is carved by the Green River over the years. The waters of the Green were used to create the Flaming Gorge Dam. The green/blue color of the lake and the red walls of Red Canyon are both worthy of a photo. This route goes south of the canyon rim and leads to wonderful views of the lake. The single-track trail goes over the lake and across the north rim. The Red Canyon Visitor Center has water and toilets. There is a restaurant, grocery store, cabin rentals, and bike rentals at Red Canyon Lodge. It is required that you have a Recreation Fee Pass. For more information, call the US Forest Service.
