About This Trail
The Santa Cruz Mountains are just west of Silicon Valley and are home to a gorgeous swath of second-growth redwoods. It's a remote section of Golden Gate National Recreation Area that gets few visitors, making it a great place to take a break. The route starts on Highway 35. There are a lot of parking on the west side of Highway 35 near the open space preserve. It's nice year-round, and this is all shaded. It will be warm in the summer, but not as hot as in the valley.
