About This Trail
The water and the Colorado sky are both blue. This is the best place to go for a day at the lake. This is the place to go if you like hiking and fishing. It is 10 miles north of Colorado Springs and 4 miles east of Woodland Park on a granite expanse at 9000 feet of elevation. It is one of the favorites for fishing, hiking, biking, and picnicking. It is a very easy way to get to the trail around the bridge and avoid parking hassles at the end of the bridge. The trail is about 16 miles long and goes around the lake. The lake was formed by 12 different streams and you will climb many different ridges as you walk around the lake.
