About This Trail
You will need an adventure pass to park. The Pine Knot Trail starts at the Aspen Glen Picnic Area and features oaks, pines, wildflowers and spectacular views of Big Bear Lake. You can take a southerly route until you reach Grand View Point, which is located one-quarter mile beyond the intersection of the Pine Knot Trail and FS Road 2N10 The trail is usually in good condition, but sometimes it is heavily crowded with bike and equestrian traffic. It is possible to see the San Francisco Bay and Catalina Island from the back of a forest and meadow. The Pine Knot path is well-suited for hiking in the Autumn and Summer seasons. You can reach Grand View Point by hiking about a mile along the remaining peninsular path.
