About This Trail
The parking lot for the trail is paved. The trail begins at the end of the parking area. It follows an old road bed for the majority of the trail. It is easy to follow, but it is not obvious. The trail takes a turn southwest and climbs upward. There are occasional views of Unaka Mountain, Holston Mountain, and Johnson City that are only available in the winter. The forest is mostly open and scenic. It is important that care is taken to navigate these trails. The last 0.2 miles of the trail are to be avoided.
