The trail leads to a "Y" in the road. The 4WD Jeep trail can be reached by climbing a hill to the right. Go to the Jeep trail and follow it until it goes left towards Tukuhnikivatz. Leave the Jeep trail and follow it to the lower couloir. The couloir is above the treeline. The ridge leads to the summit. It is possible to summit Tukuhnikivatz as part of a circuit. Dogs are allowed off leash on odd days, but on even days.
