About This Trail
The Mount Marcy trail has a short, steep hiking experience with great views during the fall and spring. The south leg of the loop has a lot of switchbacks and a few steep sections. The easiest way to get up Mount Marcy is up the south leg. The north leg is narrow, has a lot of rocks and roots, and is easy to return to the parking lot via the south leg. The parking lot has a lot of cars. There are three markers at the summit and a tower which was used for postal airplane navigation during the 1930's and 40's.
