About This Trail
This route goes down the mountain and then up the mountain again, hitting Point 9455. It is better to see the summit than the tree covered one. Some route-finding considerations are made when most of this route is off- trail. You didn't want to drop down into the Deer Creek drainage in order to get to the summit. It is worth the effort to go over the south slope of Lion Head. There is a break at Deer Creek before you tackle the slope and see the plains to the east. It is the best pano view on the next point. You can see a variety of locations such as House Rock, Twin Sisters, Kenny Mountain, Hermit Park, and Lion Gulch.
