About This Trail

Kelly Flats is the premier hard-core trail in northern Colorado. The trail climbs steeply out of the river valley and winds for a long distance across a ridge with beautiful views of the Mummy Range. The Chutes and Heart Attack Hill are noted obstacles. Call ahead if the opening of the trail is delayed by a wet spring. This trail may be too difficult for ATVs and UTVs. It is located in the Roosevelt National Forest. For current conditions, call the Canyon Lakes Ranger District. The first part of the trail is very steep. Middle is easy to navigate through a residential area. The last part has some large mud holes. Body damage is a common occurrence on The Chutes.
