About This Trail
The Karst Trail is named for the topography that is present in the area. The word Karst is a German word that means filled with caves and underground streams. The terrain is fairly flat with many scattered depressions. Some of the depressions have ponds that provide good aquatic habitat. The trail goes through some woods that have large white oak trees. The other half goes through native grassland. The white connection cuts the loop in half. The trail is suitable for mountain biking when the trail is dry.
