About This Trail

The view of the Grand Canyon is beautiful. There are no railing in some areas. The southeastern wall of Grand Canyon is formed by the cliffs known as the Palisades of the Desert. If you follow the cliffs north to a rock outcropping, you will see Comanche Point. You can't see the gorge carved by the Little Colorado River beyond Comanche Point. The hill to the east is Cedar Mountain. The highest point on the South Rim is 7,522 feet above sea level, and it's possible to see the Colorado River, the Painted Desert, and the San Francisco Peaks to the north. It's a nice paved path to the top floor of the church and inside there is a tapestry of the people from the area.
