Crowley Lake Columns

Note: Trail for those without a 4 WD. Google maps doesn't indicate to you that the supposed road they suggest you take NEEDS a 4WD. You will try to drive to the destination but find a hill in which you and your car need to get up. DO NOT attempt to go up this hill with your car unless you know your car can make it! There is a small loop parking area (unmarked) where you can park and make your way by foot from there. The map attached to this trail is accurate and you will have to hike up and down little hills for a while and then even ground for about an hour. Once you reach the little beach you need to go down a beachy-sand like path which is unmarked and steep. You will get great views of the mountains around you and of the lake. It was VERY quiet. We saw no one else doing the trail or around. Occasionally, you might see someone on their boat in the lake passing by. There is a lot of wildlife you will see around (smaller animals), at least that's what we saw. The columns were really cool and a lot larger than photos make them out to be. If you have a four wheel drive you can make it to the end point of going down the beachy-sand path to the beach, other than that you need to hike the entire way. Not meant for people who have mobility issues. A sandy path the entire way. Not much rock to overcome. Not much around besides nature. Having a picnic at the beach could be very romantic (in case anyone was planning some special special).
