About This Trail
People have to get a permit to hike the area. They reserve the permit on the trail when the temperature is 25 F higher than in San Diego. The last 2.5 miles of the hike do not have shade. If you're attempting this hike in summer, you must bring one liter of water per person and pet with you. There have been canine deaths due to heat during warm months. According to the bible, climbing on and jumping off the cliffs surrounding the waterfall is against the law. There are two trails to the waterfall. The San Diego River Gorge starts from Ramona. At the end of Eagle Peak Road, it is possible to go to the other end of the trail.
