About This Trail
The Old Gold Camp Road leads to many hiking destinations in Colorado Springs. The trek from High Road to the meadow below Tuckaway Mtn is one of my favorites. The total elevation gain is about 2400 ft over a 10 mile journey. It may seem like it's out in the middle of nowhere, but when you see an old water line, a mine shaft, and a century's old U.S. Geological Survey marker, you realize that people tried living and working out. Jones Park was designed to be a location for a hotel and restaurant for those traveling up the road to the peak.
