About This Trail
It is required for overnight visitors to have a wilderness permit. There are free campfire permits required. The Trinity Alps are always open, but most access roads are closed during winter. If you don't like rough trails, don't attempt this route. This is one of the most difficult hikes. The trail is steep and overgrown in places, and can feel hot in the summer. The long pants are recommended due to the brush-choked sections.
