If you have more time, this is a good 5 mile hike. Go to Goldwater Lake Park and then follow the Bannon Creek Trail to the shore of the Upper Goldwater Lake. There is a trail near the bridge that is popular with mountain bikers. It is possible to let your dogs run around before heading back to the park. The hike can be extended into a 9 mile out and back trip if the trail is not stopped for several more miles.
