About This Trail
You don't realize you are climbing above 10,000 ft when you ride the trail on the east side. It has many twists and turns as it passes between Bald Mountain and South Bald Mountain. The route is punishing. You can either turn left and follow the Green Ridge Trail south on a rocky road to Highway 14 or you can take Forest Road 319. It is located in the Roosevelt National Forest. For current conditions, call the Canyon Lakes Ranger District. There were no major obstacles, but a lot of rocky terrain. It's not recommended for stock SUVs, but those with high clearance can probably do it. The worst can be bypassed in the west end.
