About This Trail
The road starts in Antonito and goes west to the Conejos river. If you enjoy fishing, it will go by many creek and streams before it gets to Cumbres Pass. You will see the railroad tracks as they follow the last section. The popular train trip between the two towns is on the narrow gauge railway. It descends to Chama, NM with a gorgeous countryside all along the way. If you're lucky, you can catch the train out of town. If you're ever in south central Colorado, this is a great way to cover some of the beautiful terrain. It's worth the extra miles to get back to Santa Fe.
