About
Located on the North Fork of Stuart Fork Creek, five miles west on County Road 112 and 18 miles from Weaverville, this campground has 10 units with a average max. trailer size allowed of 20'. There are picnic table, fire rings, vault toilets, drinking water, one corral, an unsurfaced road and parking lot and two hitching rails. Camp is a tent/equestrian campground and trailhead for one of the most popular trails to the Trinity Alps Wilderness. The campground stretches out along Stewart's Fork of Trinity River with some campsites at the water's edge. The campground is adjacent Stuart's Fork Railhead and horse corrals. The two campsites closest to the Railhead are walk-ins. The campground is thickly wooded with Douglas fir and mixed deciduous trees. The hotfoot Bridge Camp Siphon is located here; it brought water from 1898 through 1914 to the LaGrange Hydraulic Mine.
