About This Trail
This is an exhilarating walk along carriage roads, from the parking area on US Rte 44 to the Mohonk Mountain House. Start at the West Trapps parking area on Rte 44 and head east. If you want to see the Catskill Mtns, turn left onto Overcliff Road and then left again onto Laurel Ledge Road. You can take the road to the stunning Mohonk Mountain House/Mohonk Lake from the end. It's possible to follow the driveway around the house and then pick up the road at the end. Take Undercliff Road to see the views of the Hudson River Valley as well as technical climbers scaling the cliffs. The West Trapps Connector leads back to the parking area. It is closed to hikers during the snow season for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
