About This Trail
Two short but steep trails lead to overlooks of Upheaval Dome, a colorful and puzzling geologic feature. The first overlook (0.6 mi round trip) gives a clear view into the dome with interpretive exhibits; continuing to the second overlook (1.2 mi round trip) adds views of the crater and Upheaval Canyon. NPS rates the hike moderate, and it crosses the strenuous Syncline Loop near its start.
