About This Trail

Imported description
The trail is named for an early land speculator who traveled through the Cumberland Gap. You can travel back in time from the visitor center, past the site of the 19th century turreted New South Brewery and Ice Company, and through the forest canopy, following the path Lewis and Clark and Daniel Boone once traveled. The cascading water from the cave behind the Cumberland Gap Tunnel can be seen as you cross the bridge. The trail is partially gravel and has a blacktop trail. The trail crosses a road on three occasions.
