About This Trail

During bird breeding season, a section of this trail is closed. The 571 acres of the Stroud Preserve are culturally and ecological important. The Water Stroud Research Center uses this rolling mosaic of once-pastured farmland, workings and woodlands as a unique site for research. The trails in the Stroud Preserve are easy to navigate. The Red Trail is a 4.2 mile loop trail that is moderate. The trail goes through farm fields and forests. The trail is open to horseback riding and there are a few spots where the horses have banged the dirt into mud. The whole trail system is a great place for families with young children.
