About This Trail
It is possible to view Cedar Mesa, the Blue Mountains, and the crest of a small hill far off in the distance from the trail. It's named after a story about Mormon scout who were lost in the area. One of them climbed a knoll on Christmas morning to see if they could follow it. He could see the Blue Mountains from the top. It's understandable how he would refer to the place as Salvation Knoll because they were lost and out of food.
