Ramapo Lake Cannonball Loop Trail

The Indian Rock trail leads to the historic ruins and scenic overlooks of the lake. You will pass some ruins from the old gunpower mfg if you cross the stream on a small bridge. The operation closed around 1920. Just after crossing a gas line, leave onto the Wanaqe Ridge trail. Climb to several nice viewpoints just off trail. A short, white spur trail leads to an easterly view. Continue north and then east on the Wanaque Ridge Trail. The trail is over. Make your way onto the MacEvoy Trail. MacEvoy follows the cut for a short time and then goes left into the woods. Continue straight on the Cannonball Trail. Cannonball goes to the lake and then back to the woods. You reach the jct after this. The Indian Rock Trail is paraphrased. Go straight on Indian Rock.
